Dusty Sessions is all about bringing blues, folk and soul music together for an intimate evening of self-expression. Welcome to Dusty Sessions Volume 8!
We are extremely excited to be back at Bar 303 in Northcote, on our favourite fairy-light strewn stage, with another amazing line-up of Melbourne talent.
We acknowledge that this event will be taking place on stolen land, and pay respects to the traditional custodians; the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. Sovereignty was never ceded, and we still have a long way to go to make equality our reality. Part of every ticket sold to this event will be donated to the Pay The Rent organisation in Victoria, that runs community projects and offers aid to first nations people.
Joel Keith - Bandcamp
Joel Keith is a person in Birkenstocks with an acoustic guitar based out of Naarm, of all places. When they aren’t performatively reading romantic poets on public transport, they’re writing songs that reference them. They want to make you wistful, but also to make you go, like, “Hey, cool guitar, I should check out their Bandcamp.”
Candice Alisha - Instagram
This soulful singer-songwriter draws inspiration from blues and folk music, plus the world of nature around her. Originally hailing from Wodonga, Candice is now local to Melbourne, moving to the city at the beginning of 2019 to pursue her career with her strong, deep and rough vocals and magnetic stage presence.
Pia Nesvara - Instagram
Arm-in-arm with her flamenco guitar, Pia Nesvara brings flavors of her Chilean roots in a blend of gutsy vocals, hard-hitting rhythms and brazen lyrics to create her ‘soul meets indie/folk-songwriter’ sound. She’s a well respected singer-songwriter, grown up and out of the hills of the Dandenong Ranges, where she's loved for her years of generosity in the community's music scene.
